Barbara, If the gentleman is a golfer ask his assistant where he likes to golf and pay for a round of golf or a gift certificate to his favorite sporting goods store that will enable him to purchase a new club, etc. This could apply to any type of sport, tennis, racket ball. . . . . .

I suggest a flash/usb/thumb drive, to carry his/her presentations to the next speaking location. Another suggestion would be a laser pointer. There are some laser/remote pointers that connect to your laptop with software. These enable the speaker to flip through his/her slides without being near the laptop, from across the room.

Think of his instructing style. Does he use power point displays, handouts, etc. For a gift that I (as an instructor) would appreciate and utilize is a gift card to an office supply store or tech store. Grouped in a nice gift basket with some nice paper, pens, and other of your logo'd items, it'd make a nice basket. A gift card can be used for anything for himself or to help offset any expenses he may have on materials for instruction (such as a new mouse, software, etc.).

All of the gift ideas are lovely and diverse. Depending on the type of speaker he/she is, and because of the tone of the country in a temporary shift, I think it would speak well of your company, as well as the guest, if you were able to make a small donation on his behalf to a related charity. You could present him with a certificate provided by the organization or make your own. He/she will have something tangible to hang or display and everyone will have a feeling of having shared in something beneficial to others.

I just recently was present when someone received a membership to a local museum and I thought that was a great gift. These are priced from reasonable to very high depending on what you would like to spend. Some museums offer free admission, brunch, publications, discounts in their store, etc.

Hi Barbara,
If you could fit it in his schedule and find info if he likes/plays the sport, a round of golf at the country club is always appreciated.

Neiman Marcus offers an Executive Shirt Program.
The fabric is gift boxed (a nice selection of fabrications). The recipient brings the gift to a Neiman Marcus store and is measured for a "Custom Fit Dress Shirt." The shirt is tailored specifically for the individual and returned to the customer.
Prices start at $245.00.

Always a good gift is a spar treatment in his home town as if he doesn't use it himself he can always give it to a partner, family member, etc. Good luck, I hope the presentation goes well.

I love to give gift baskets. Gourmet fruit, wine and cheese (usually whoever you order from can customize). People seem to be real receptive to gifts like that. It's something they can share with co-workers or take home to share with their family. It's nice because even if they've received a similiar gift in the past, most likely it will be a little different. Gift cards for a nice restaurant or book store is also a great gift.

I'd consider getting him a nice rolling laptop bag. Even if he has one, they get beat up pretty fast and a new one, possibly with your facility's logo would be much appreciated.

A very nice gift would be something from Steuben (if you have any stores nearby that sell the Steuben). They make hand warmers that are quite nice - they do fit in the palm of your hand or can be used as a paperweight.

Hi! We use this site quite often for guest speakers and other people that help us out at events. They are fun and unusual.
