I would like to give each person in the department a little gift without breaking the bank; however, there are over 100 people. Any ideas? Also, should I give a gift to my manager or the other managers? Some give gifts. Others don't. I've heard that one is not supposed to give to anyone who in a position higher than them. Any insights? Thanks.

Little christmas stockings from the dollar store filled with candy. Buy the big bag of candy so you have enough for all the stockings.

I've given my dept members each lottery tickets once. Include a note or Xmas card with it.

Give something they could all share, usually a food item. Put this item in the break room, at the next dept mtg, or by your desk and send an email or a note. If you want to give each person something, then bake breads or cookies or give nuts/candies, and put them in special baggies. You can also give a card. If you give something to everyone in your dept, then yes, a gift to your manager would be considerate. A card is always safe. Also, no one is expecting you to give. But if you really want to, then give only to close friends in your company.

Small ivy plants were given here one year...not too pricey. I always give my bosses a holiday gift. Homemade cookies, fudge whatever I dream up. Again a dozen homemade cookies, not pricey. A group platter of cookies in the breakroom is a nice treat for everyone too.
