EXCEL REFRESHER

I am a senior level Administrative Assistant. My role is primarily scheduling, project management, and coordination of workflow. However, my Excel skills are a bit rusty and I want to take some refresher classes. Does anyone have any recommendations for online classes or CDs?

I took the Beginning Excel and Intermediate Excel from www.ed2go.com. They are an excellent way to learn at your own pace (2 classes a week for 6 weeks) and you are responsible for taking the 12 tests and final exam. I paid $99 with my AEAP membership. I also took the Mr Excel teleseminar and am now connected to even more resources. Good Luck. Anonymous on 12/26/2009 10:59:25 AM
Here are a couple of web sites that might be useful: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/FX100646951033.aspx?CTT=96&Origin=CL100570551033 http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/default.aspx Anonymous on 12/24/2009 7:34:53 AM
I just finished two terms of Beginning and Intermediate Excel at Portland Community College in Oregon. I highly recommend you take Excel at a community college for the following reasons: 1) You will have questions you need to discuss with a teacher. 2) You will get a comprehensive exposure to all areas of Excel. 3) You will finish projects that are complex and necessary to see all the parts come together to fully understand Excel's capabilities. 4) You will be held accountable for long projects and be more committed to completing steps that may seem grueling, like "If Statements." 5) You will be more likely to commit the hours necessary to advance in Excel and realize new applications. We used the book New Perspectives on Microsoft Office Excel 2007 by Parsons, Oja, Ageloff, and Carey. It is a tutorial. Each student worked at their own pace, and a teacher answered each person's questions when they had problems. Good luck! Anonymous on 12/23/2009 9:59:21 PM
