Is anyone using Reference Manager 11? I would be glad to to receive some help with this program, specifically on inserting citations in a chapter.

Reference Manager 11, available at www.refman.com ($249.95), has a well thought out training system available online at http://www.refman.com/training/tutorial/RefManBasics.asp
The topic “CWYW:Insert Citation” should explain most of the process well, but here is a quick guide:
1. Within your Word document, make sure the Reference Manager toolbar is enabled by clicking View > Toolbars > Reference Manager 11.
2. In the document body, place the cursor at the point in which you want to place a reference.
3. From the Reference Manager Toolbar, click the Magnifying Glass to perform a search.
4. In the Search dialog, type in the keyword for what you want to search and click Perform Search.
5. When the search is complete, a list of references stored in the Reference Manager database are listed (bear in mind that you’ll need to pre-load the database using any of several reference systems available within Reference Manager).
6. Select the reference in the results pane by highlighting the entry, then press the Insert button in the dialog box.
7. A new reference will be inserted in the form of a Word REF field and a new Reference List will be inserted at the end of the document to provide the target anchor for the reference field.
8. Additional references can be made anywhere in the document and the Reference List will automatically be updated.
A demonstration copy of Reference Manager 11 can be downloaded by filling out the form at http://www.refman.com/rmdemo.asp . Note that this demo limits the number of times any given database can be opened.
Amongst Reference Manager 11’s strengths is the ability to work on a network share for use with up to 20 different database instances in use.
Also, Reference Manager does smoothly interact with Microsoft Word and does make effective use of Word’s styles. However, if you are working with Microsoft Office 2007, you may need to find another tool, as Reference Manager does not support Office 2007 very well. This issue is understandable since Add-In support for Office 2007 is tougher to manage than in previous versions (see http://www.refman.com/support/faqs/cwyw/faq28.asp). Reference Manager also supports Word Perfect versions 9 through 12. And it is disappointing to note that, currently, Vista is not amongst the listed compatible operating systems and only Windows 2000 or Windows XP are supported (see http://www.refman.com/rmvista.asp).
Finally, it may be necessary in your work environment to have firewall rules and network proxies modified (talk to your system administrator for help with this) to allow traffic to the various sites in which Reference Manager will be searching via its Internet Search features. While the support pages do an excellent job of explaining the power and process behind Reference Manager, troubleshooting data at the site is notably weak.
